Have you had enough of
Autistic Burnout?
Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed or just plain exhausted? Maybe life appears to be going well but you know it is not sustainable. Maybe you have hit rock bottom and are feeling burnt out or have shut down and don’t know how to get back to where you were, or even if you want to.
Autistic, neuro-divergent and people with or without an official diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are more likely to suffer from mental health problems and Autistic Burnout. The causes of this are not entirely clear but are likely to be due in part to the pressures of living in a world that is not well adapted for neurodiversity, the expectations of others, and our own beliefs about ourselves.
As a Clinical Psychologist and Autistic person I know that in the struggle to live a successful and meaningful life, we often put aside our needs or cover up our differences. This, alongside the stresses and strains of modern life mean that often Autistic people end up with poor mental health. While this is entirely understandable, it does not have to be this way.
Life doesn't have to be this hard
I want all Autistic people to live authentic, energised and inspired lives.
I have integrated research evidence, the lived experience of hundreds of Autistic people and my clinical training into a unique pathway.
The Au;thenticity Pathway
The Au;thenticity Pathway
Accept
Acquire
Aspire
The first step in the Au;thenticity Pathway is acknowledging and accepting your own history and your current situation.
Using timelines, and techniques from clinical psychology my courses help you to identify factors that contribute to your Autistic Burnout and those that protect against it.
The second step in the Au;thenticity Pathway is all about acquiring knowledge and skills to make your life more sustainable, manage your stress and energy levels, and find more joy and connection in your life.
Using tools and techniques from Compassion Focused Therapy, Sensory Integration and pacing literature my courses help you to identify any unmet needs and manage the stressors in your life.
The third and final step in the Au;thenticity pathway is one of aspiring to be authentically yourself, without the Autistic Burnout.
My courses use my skills from Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to help you get what you need to live an authentic, energised and inspired life.
